Pastoral Care and Student Expectations
Pastoral Care
At our provision, we take great pride in the comprehensive pastoral support we provide to our students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported throughout their educational journey. Understanding that each student's needs are unique, we have implemented an exeat system available to all students who require a short break away from the learning environment.
This provision allows students the necessary space to recharge and refocus.
We recognise the importance of accessibility when it comes to pastoral care, therefore there is always a dedicated member of staff available to offer immediate support when needed.
Our site boasts a wide variety of safe spaces where students can take time out, fostering an environment conductive to emotional wellbeing.

In addition to this, we have a provision counsellor who can be accessed through a referral system, ensuring students receive therapeutic support tailored to their individual circumstances. Furthermore, we are committed to providing bespoke timetables that accomodate and support students' unique needs, promoting a personalised approach to their education. Through these initiatives, we aim to nurture resilience and wellbeing, significantly enhancing our students' overall educational experience.

Student Expectations

Woodpecker Court is an alternative education provider with specialist post 16 status set in a rural location. We believe that every student is different and treated as an individual and therefore vary our practices to support them holistically. We aim to improve outcomes by providing all of our students with the necessary skills to equip them to sustain their onward destination after leaving us. We have a calm, safe and friendly environment that all of our students together as a community maintain.
