Hello, and welcome to Woodpecker Court.  I am proud to be the Principal of this superb provision. I have been working in formal and informal education for 25 years, in a variety of settings, and I founded Woodpecker Court in 2015.  I have always been passionate about students that find education a challenge; I was fortunate enough to hold a Senior Vice Principal role in a large Secondary School, where I completed my Masters in Education.  I made a decision to run my own provision providing education for the students that did not suit the usual educational path.

With extreme passion and drive from not only myself but my very talented and diverse staff team, this provision has grown from a few students in 2015 to become a Specialist Post 16 Institution by 2020, and then an Ofsted Outstanding provision by 2024. We are extremely proud of the beautiful 15 acre outdoor learning environment here, that has been carefully crafted over the years to meet our students’ needs.
